Password SafePassword Safe is an indispensible program for anyone who is required to use passwords across many systems, such as internet sites etc.. It started off life at Counterpane under the direction of cryptography guru Bruce Schneier. It has been around for many years unchanged. However, it is now being actively developed as a SourceForge Open Source Project.
Password Safe can also be used to encrypt and decrypt files by using the -e and -d command line options. Encrypted files are given an additional psf file extension.
Remember, ensure the password used to secure password safe proected data, isn't to be found in any dictionary, or it will be vulnerable to the Password Safe Cracker!
